Got a great deal with Month Off plan. Didn't have any issues with Contact.

Pros:

Cheap, good customer service. Bonuses/credits with every plan for new customers.

Cons:

LPG is provided by Rockgas, so it is not "all in one bill" as I expected.

I have been with Contact energy twice now and on each occasion I'm afraid to say i have been let down. It is extremely disappointing in this day and age with the technology available to everyone that Contact still cannot provide an accurate invoice that reflects the amount of energy used. To be told the smart meter could not provide a read at the time requested by contact so the invoice was estimated when a reading was taken from the meter only the day before but they don't use those readings for invoicing purposes is ludicrous to say the least. The estimated read was so far out that if a human had entered the amount he or she would have been sent back to re-read the meter. It is 2020 isn't it? When i find a decent alternative supplier i will be switching and this time I will not be giving Contact Energy any more opportunities to let me down.

Pros:

None unfortunately. Each time I have rung Contact to get my issues sorted out it is implied that I my expectations are unreasonable when all I want is an accurate invoice so I can pay for what I have actually used. To get an invoice for for about 1/2 of what is a normal months usage at the same time the local Lines trust pays my dividend to my energy supplier to then receive an invoice almost 3 times the amount of a usual month when there is a smart meter on site is unacceptable. To then find that the meter provided data that could have been used to mitigate against ludicrous inaccuracies which was ignored by contact and I have to pay almost 3 times my normal monthly bill when going in to what has become 7 weeks of isolation and lockdown with zero income over that time due to Covid 19 is just another slap in the face. To have little or no understanding of that situation demonstrated by any of the number of customer service personal is I guess just a reflection of Contact energy's respect for their customers.

Cons:

Poor service Poor plans poor pricing and poor follow up.

I've been with Contact Energy for quite a few years now because every time I look at possibly changing to a new company they give me a deal that would be crazy to pass up.

Pros:

Never had a problem with power supply. Fantastic prompt payment discount. Allow me to change to Low User rates for summer, then change back to Standard User rates for winter. Great customer service. Very easy to understand invoice. Great phone app with all the information and helpful tips you need.

Cons:

Can't think of any.

My Account number with contact energy is 501226863. I just want to warn customers for tricky and ambiguous fixed term contract of contact energy. Their agent told me that the fixed term contract is for 12 months. I also received a welcome letter which "never mentioned" the length of the contract or the ending period of my fixed term contract.It only had the following words written in it. "Thanks for choosing our Saver Plus 200 Plan. Being able to fix the price you pay for your energy is important so we hope you enjoy having this peace of mind. Your pricing will not increase until 31 March 2021, subject to the exclusions set out in the Saver Plus 200 Plan special terms" Now where on earth is there written that my fixed term contract is for 15 months??? It only mentions that the prices will remain same till March 31,2021.Their fraudulent agent also told me that their contract is for 1 year(just like all other power and telecom companies) .I got rid of them just 1 month before March 31 and now they are charging me early termination fee! This is soo tricky and fraudulent. Avoid using this tricky and fraudulent company.Their rates are also as tricky as the company itself

Tricking customers. Telling them ambiguous and tricky information. Poor customer service who never listens to you. Bad rates.Also tricky.They will show you tricky information so that you might think they have cheaper rates...Dont be fooled..Dont use contact energy ever again for tricking customers
