Haven't been able to access my own account for 5 weeks. They acknowledge the problem but haven't solved it in 5 weeks. They constantly advertise cheap deals yet I can't buy them. Then because I haven't 'topped up', they take the price of full price power out of my account. Emails go unanswered.
The FB team answer me, but they're only social media so can't help. DO NOT go near Powershop. It's a complete mess. What kind of company updates their app & processes without makign sure customers will continue to get access? ...read more

Powershop used to be fantastic, however, they have now become terrible. Our power bill has increased more than 50% in total since April 2026. The new app forecasts the monthly cost but then the bill arrives and it far exceeds the monthly forecast. Not good enough.

Been with Powershop for 5 years now. Every year I go to compare, and they are still by FAR the cheapest option for me. You do have to get the Powerpacks every week to get the best price (took me a few months to figure that one out) and an EV powerpack every fortnight, but it's well worth it. The next cheapest provider would be over $500 yearly more expensive for me.

Extra 1% discount every year, easy to track power usage through the app. Always notified of avalible power discounts
Cons
No batch plans, secondary property has to be on standard power rates
