NZ Compare is 2018 Westpac Auckland Business Awards' Finalist

Thursday, August 23, 2018
NZ Compare has been nominated as the finalist in 2 categories for Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2018

The free to use comparison business, NZ Compare, has been chosen as a nominee in the Westpac Auckland Business Awards’ Best Emerging Business Category and for Excellence in Strategy and Planning.

“Planning and strategy have been the very foundation of our success to date,” says Gavin Male, CEO and Co-founder of the company.  “When we launched the first website, Broadband Compare back in June 2016 we had a long-term vision of what we wanted NZ Compare to become and 2018 will be our busiest year yet.  We’ve worked hard on delivering on our goal to be the #1 trusted source of information for personal finance, utilities and saving money in New Zealand and we now have websites live in the PowerMobile and Travel verticals.  Money Compare, our financial comparison website will be launching in the next few weeks.”

The Best Emerging Business Category recognises a business that has achieved significant business growth during the last one to three years as a result of effective planning and delivery whilst the second nomination for Excellence in Strategy and Planning recognises where a business has developed a longer-term strategy and has set business targets and devised specific plans that have been implemented across the business and have been fundamental to business success.  With users across the NZ Compare websites reaching almost 80,000 in July 2018 the business has shown rapid and impressive growth in line with their strategy of introducing more comparison verticals following the success of Broadband Compare.

Male continued, “It has been a great couple of years for the team at NZ Compare and to receive this recognition is a wonderful validation of the hard work from every member of the team, from customer service to tech and development.  What truly sets NZ Compare apart is the accessibility and ease of use of our websites which make it incredibly simple to compare on save on everything from broadband to power.  The team take real satisfaction in helping Kiwis save money on their bills and giving them a bit more money back into their pockets.”

NZ Compare was among a number of companies that were recognised for their business excellence at a special evening organised at the Villa Maria Estate by the Auckland Chambers of Commerce.  The function was well attended by entrants from a wide variety of businesses. Winners will be announced at a gala evening on 14 November at The Cordis Hotel in Central Auckland.
