Who Made the Cut? Introducing the Finalists for the 2025 NZ Compare Awards

Who Made the Cut? Introducing the Finalists for the 2025 NZ Compare Awards
Monday, November 17, 2025

The finalists for the 2025 NZ Compare Awards have been revealed today, celebrating excellence across New Zealand’s broadband, energy and mobile sectors. Now in their 9th year, the NZ Compare Awards shine a spotlight on the service providers delivering the best products, value and customer experiences for Kiwis nationwide.

Gavin Male, Founder and CEO of NZ Compare, says: “New Zealanders rely on consistent, fair and dependable utilities more than ever. The industry continues to innovate at pace, and this year’s finalists showcase the very best of what broadband, energy and mobile providers are doing to meet Kiwi expectations. We’re excited to recognise these achievements once again.”

With a strong number of entries from an increasingly diverse field of providers, competition has been stronger than ever. From established national brands to emerging specialists, the 2025 finalists represent a sector that’s evolving quickly to serve the needs of modern households and businesses.

Each award category can have up to three finalists, determined by the highest average scores from our independent judging panel. In categories with fewer than three finalists, this reflects either a smaller number of entries or the fact that only the listed entrants met the minimum qualifying threshold. The judging panel applied the full scoring criteria to every entry to ensure that all finalists — and any eventual category winner — met the required standard of excellence.

Male also noted the reduced participation from several of New Zealand’s larger utility providers. “We were disappointed not to see more of the major players put themselves forward this year. Their involvement is important for reflecting the full state of the industry, and it demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement for consumers. We encourage all providers — large and small — to engage fully in the awards process in future years.”

This year, winners will be announced online on December 4th, with results released digitally across NZ Compare’s channels. While there is no in-person event for 2025, the recognition and celebration of industry excellence remains as strong as ever — and the battle for top honours is set to be one of the most competitive yet.
