As owners of Ecotricity: ecotricity has the worst customer service in have ever experienced in NZ. They have knowingly been debiting my account for invoices they know are inflated as their meter on my property was not working. We are 10 months into this. For 3 to 4 months we were not even home, hot water shut down yet they kept invoicing for the same amount of power every month knowing full well usage was at least $400 less. They dont respond to emails or callbacks 98% of the time. They have made fiction out of the sequence of events to suit a narrative..their staff hung up on me after refusing to listen to a complaint only to email an apology for their behaviour yet did nothing to resolve matters. They now claim.that since the meter was swapped out that they cant retrieve old usage data for reimbursement so can only offer an apology amd $100 credit. As a utility company they should be closed down as this practice is theft or fraud. Their customer service and customer revenue senior management Stephen England Hall has a huge job ahead as ecotricity staff are unprepared and fabricating information to get out of their responsibility as core service providers. ...read more

their accounting is confusing. an inv. $100 direct debit might be $95 . An inv amount should be the exact amount coming out of your account. sometimes it says you have a credit do you want it??? their accounting skills are nil
Pros
I think I am getting a reasonable deal they do give power free hours
Cons
no accounting skills whatsoever.

Tried to contact them today at 3.50 pm and was told that the wait time would be 15 mins.

This is certainly not acceptable for a company of this size, so go elsewhere if you want good customer services
Pros
None
Cons
Customer service wait time atrocious
